Maa Bagalamukhi
Mythological Background of Maa Baglamukhi
Durgam, the son of the demon Ruru, is said to have embarked on a life of strict austerities (তপস্যা). This is believed to be the origin of the most interesting myth associated with this particular deity, which dates back to the 8th Mahavidya (Dasamahanavidya). This particular Mahavidya is dedicated to the deity Maa Baglamukhi Devi. His objective is to become more powerful than the deities. Satisfied with his rigorous repentance, Brahma rewarded him with a boon. However, the gods are faced with a dilemma due to this gift from Prajapati Brahma. The demon Durgam took over the heavens after being blessed and chased the gods away. Bhagwati was then invoked by the gods, and the goddess reappeared and engaged in combat with Durgam. In this battle, from the goddess’ body, the powerful forces such as Bhairavi, Rama, Matangi, Maa Baglamukhi , Kamakhya, Aswini, Mohini, Chinnamasta, Gujjha Kali etc. came to play in the war and wiped out the evil forces.

Maa Annapurna Devi
Architectural Significance
This temple has been around for a hundred and six years. The basic structure of the temple is adorned with a Panchcharatna. The sanctum has a balcony outside where people can hang out and relax. Unfortunately, some of the walls were damaged by the natural disaster, but they’re still standing strong. This temple was founded by Radhika prasad sanyal. He woke up from a dream and realized that there was something underneath the ground that he had to get to. He arranged for digging and found the idol of Maa Bagalamukhi. He then constructed the Maa Bagalamukhi Temple. In the sacred sanctum sanctorum, Baba Mahadev is with the mother goddess(Maa Bagalamukhi Devi). Annapurna Maa Sheetala or Mansa resides in this temple too. The Sanyal family continues to bear the responsibilities of the Maa Bagalamukhi temple.

Religious Significance of Maa Bagalamukhi Temple
The majority of temples in the state of West Bengal revere various deities and deities in accordance with the Vedic tradition. Maa Bagalamukhi, on the other hand, is venerated by Tantra cults. This is the primary reason for the limited number of temples dedicated to this deity in West Bengal. The deity is typically depicted in yellow attire and adorned with golden ornaments. On a stone altar, the idol of the Goddess is positioned. The two hands of the Goddess Maa Bagalamukhi Devi are depicted: the Right Hand of the Goddess Mudgar (Club) is gripping the Tongue of the Enemy in the Left Hand. Yellow is the color of the goddess. She loves yellow flowers, yellow clothing, yellow confectionery, and so on. Of course, the mother is also offered a red flower garland in temple.
